Mattress Firmness- Plushness Scale

We are often asked which mattress is softer or firmer than another. Below is a simple chart to help explain that.

We have rated the mattresses on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the very plushest, and 1 being very, very firm.

This is important to note. Most mattresses tradeoff support and pressure relief. That means when other brands build firm or moderately firm beds, they deliver a lot of support and little or no pressure relief. Or, it means when other brands build a plush mattress, it may have a lot of pressure relief but not enough support for you. Talalay Latex Mattresses are DIFFERENT. You do not have to trade off support and pressure relief. In fact, the more Talalay Latex in the bed, the more support you get whether it is a firm bed or a plush bed.

If you add a 3 inch CustomFit Removable Pillow Top to any mattress you will likely raise it 3 on the scale. For example, a Pamper will feel more like an 8.
